Ultimate Travel Bag: Durable and Versatile
The Thule Chasm collection is an excellent choice for those seeking durable and versatile travel bags. After using the 70L size extensively on a three-week trip to Europe, I found it to exceed my expectations.Bag Build: The bag is made from 900D polyester. The “D” in “900D” is an abbreviation for the denier of the fabric, indicating its thickness and density. Generally, bags fabric could come in 300D, 600D, 900D, and larger. The larger the number, the higher durability of the bag. With this Thule bag, the material is strong, resilient, and water-resistant. It is suitable for various weather scenarios. The bag is equipped with heavy-duty zippers that are big and strong, ensuring secure closure. There are also external compression straps that can help reduce the bag’s size when it is not fully packed or to keep the contents more compact inside. There are two mesh pockets inside (one smaller and one larger) for organizing smaller items. The bottom of the bag is padded. Despite its sturdy construction, the bag is quite forgiving and can be squeezed into tight spaces, something that is particularly useful when traveling.Carrying Options: There are multiple carrying handles around the bag, giving several configuration options to make it work for your needs. There are removable backpack straps that are easy to attach and detach. One end of the straps is attached to a clip while the other end is easily thread through. Additionally, there are two side panel straps that can be made longer and thus making the bag easy to side carry. Note that the bag does not come with one long strap for traditional shoulder duffel-style carrying. If that is your preferred method, this bag may not be the perfect fit.Size Considerations: The Thule Chasm collection comes in multiple sizes. This would be airline dependent, but the 40L does work as a carry-on. It fits in the overhead compartment and under the seat (when not overly stuffed). Anything larger than the 40L needs to be checked. I found the 70L size the perfect size for me. Coupled with packing cubes, I managed to pack for three weeks for myself and child.Usability: The standout feature of this bag is the wide opening. This allows full access to the main compartment. The design in this bag is superior to traditional backpacks that only offer top-down access. The interior of the main compartment is lined with light fabric, making it easier to see and organize your belongings. This travel bag includes a handy storage bag which allows you to fold the duffel down into compact form for storage. When traveling, I personally used this storage bag as a laundry bag.Overall: A highly durable, versatile, and user-friendly bag. Cool color variety to suit your personality. Well-suited for anyone looking for a reliable option for extended trips or rugged outdoor adventures. Highly recommend!

    Great for International Travel
I used this 70L bag for a 10 day trip to Asia. It was absolutely perfect. Way easier for me to get in and off trains, busses, and planes than my friends who all had hard sided luggage. The bag had plenty of space for 10 changes of clothes, fleece, rain shell, extra pair of shoes, and toiletries. I even had enough space left over to bring back chocolates for friends. The bag is built well, shoulder straps are comfortable, the material is water resistant, and seems like it will last for decades. I’d definitely buy it again.

Survived a weeklong, daily pack and unpack camping trip with no issues
We had two of these bags for a week-long bike tour, which involved packing up each morning and loading the bags onto trucks. They held almost too much stuff and performed exceptionally well with solid use. When we returned home, they showed no signs of wear and tear, cleaned up well, and easily stowed back into their storage bags for next time. There isn’t a lot of pocket storage but what is provided was sufficient and easy to access.I like that the shoulder straps can be removed and that the carry handles can be easily secured to the sides. These 70L models will be good checked bags for air travel but are questionable for carry-on use unless you pack lightly.I am extremely happy with the purchase.

The 130 liter Thule Chasm duffel is sturdy and BIG with multiple carry options
I bought the 130 liter Thule Chasm duffel as my main piece of luggage for a 4 week trip involving car travel, hotel stays, cruise ships, and a train. I needed clothing and some equipment for two very different climates, so I wanted a big piece of luggage that fit within airline dimensions but was sturdy and flexible and which could be put on wheels when necessary. The Thule Chasm 130L is 34″ x 18″ x 16.5″, a total linear dimensional measurement of 68.5″ which is over the airlines 62″ dimensional limits if fully packed and expanded. However, if not packed to bursting, the bag’s compression straps can be used to reduce the dimensions to what the airlines will accept. If airline limits aren’t applicable, this bag easily can be packed in excess of both the size and 50# weight limits, yet is still manageable. The bag has multiple carry options, with optional backpack straps, a top carry handle, and grab handles on both ends. This made moving the bag around fairly easy, despite its large size. I wouldn’t recommend carrying it long distances when packed full with clothing, however – it doesn’t take the place of a decent backpack for hiking. Its weight when packed also makes it less than idea for long carry with the handles. I brought a collapsible two-wheeled aluminum handtruck with me that I could carry into the airline cabin after checking the bag. (Wheeled bags reduce the net luggage weight since the wheels are included in the airlines weight measurement.) I could place this duffel vertically on the handtruck and still have room for another smaller duffel to sit horizontally on top, all strapped in place to prevent shifting. The internal mesh pockets are useful for some internal organization, and the external pocket at one end provides storage for items to be accessed quickly without opening the entire bag. There isn’t any internal organization for the main compartment; I use “packing cubes” (Amazon Basics ones work fine) to keep my clothing organized.Overall it is a great bag assuming you need this much storage space. It is an extremely big bag, and it holds a lot. Just the ticket if you have a lot to transport and need to keep your bag count down, but is overkill if you don’t. One way to think of it is as the modern equivalent of a steamer trunk.

    Big, super well made bag!
Loved the color, loved the quality. Ended up being just a bit bigger than I needed.

    Great Functionality
I took this bag on a deep sea fishing trip to Central America. We stayed on a large ship during the evenings and then fished during the day on two smaller boats. With the shoulder straps and handles, it made traveling there using the bag as a carry-on bag easy. It also gave me great comfort that it was highly water resistant under the circumstances. Well made and very good design.

    Great duffel bag
It’s well made and I like the green color. Not too flashy and well designed.

I’ve been using it a lot over the past 7 months and it’s holding up very well. Interior pockets work well to separate smaller items. High quality materials. It’s a great bag. Love it.

fantastic duffel bag. I’m traveling 2 to 4 times a year, so not a ton but enough to become familiar with convenient bags. My trips are often only 2 to 3 days so this is a perfect bag for that length of a trip. Lots of room inside, multiple ways to carry it and it is sturdy. From what i read it qualifies for the carrry on luggage for airplanes, but i heard that recently airlines adjusted the sizing of carrry on…I hope this isn’t true but i will find out on my next flight. No complaints on my end excellent purchase
