Planning more trips just so I can take my Thule Aion!
First of all, use case is everything. On a long trip to Europe, we chose to take one carry-on and one personal bag apiece. This bag was my personal bag and was not meant to replace my carry-on. As such I wanted it to be as large and functional as possible, while still being able to fit under the seat. This it did magnificently.I was able to pack a a ton of clothes and other personal gear, electronics, etc. in his backpack. You can access the main compartment through the top or it opens clamshell style. It has a nice large sleeve for a laptop and a smaller one for an iPad. It has decent organization and an easy to reach outside pocket for things like chargers, keys, glasses, etc. You can also expand it significantly if necessary (this can also help compress the bag if needed). It is not too large to go as a day pack if necessary and it is quite comfortable. The zippers and pulls are all quality. I found the outer shell fabric to be very water resistant and durable. There is also a zipper pocket between the straps that easily and safely fits a passport or wallet. The water bottle pocket is quite large, but it was my one complaint. Because it is oriented straight up and down vs canted forward, it is quite hard to insert or withdraw your water bottle while wearing the pack. While this was a little irritating (and really should be addressed by Thule), it was certainly not a dealbreaker.I have to give the Thule Aion two big thumbs up! ðð

This is a really nice 28-32L backpack…couple tweaks would make it perfect.
This is a really nice looking backpack with some useful features and pretty comfortable to carry too.Really solid construction with awesome zippers and nice water resistant material.Things I like…- Really nice zippers- looks nice- expandable from 28L to 32L- few good little organization pockets in front- stash pocket in top back- nice interior setup that can be split or used as one large compartment- interior thin waterproof section to keep papers dry OR separate something wet or a few dirty clothes- comfortable side carry handle- fits 32oz Nalgene bottle- luggage pass throughChanges I wish it had…- remove that front little handle, looks weird sticking out. Just make it a little incognito strap if you gotta put something there. And back top handle not comfortable to grab, make it a little more comfortable- wish front had a quick access zip pocket for little stuff- wish there was a better dedicated pocket on top to stash and protect sunglasses- the little zipper pulls on a couple zippers sort of stick out and wish they just laid against bag- maybe a couple more little zipper stash pockets inside would be good- wish bag was like 1-2″ longer top to bottom (I’m 6′ tall) so it would just fit more long ways vertical on back as opposed to sticking further out.Overall a really solid, nice looking, functional bag w some great features and better than 95%+ of what you’ll find in this size and price range.

Great Travel Backpack
This backpack has been the best for traveling on all occasions. Plenty of room for a 2 day work trip, or carry on for a long-haul international one. Fits standard carry-on sizing when fully packed and extended. The finish on it does patina, but still durable. I like the look of it. Also very secure as I had no problems with it traveling overseas.

Not even joking, best backpack I’ve ever owned
My life’s goal has been finding the best bag for a specific purpose and I have achieved my goal, in the area of daily driver backpack /short weekend trip backpack — this bag is great, it’s big enough for my lunch, headphones, laptop, another layer, etc for my day out , and it expands for a weekend away. 2-3 days max tho. The “luggage” type thing is really useful for the weekend, and u don’t even notice it if u use it for just the day. It has a tiny easy access pocket for like, charger, Advil, etc. Honestly it’s just good. It works great, is comfortable, very padded , AND LIGHTWEIGHT !!! I’ve tried other bags (looking at you, Aer from SF) and their padding is so friggin heavy, and the bag is so overpadded you can’t fit your lunch in there.Anyway I love this damn bag, I think it’s water resistant too. I should have known Thule would make a banging bag!! Much respect to this bag and whoever designed it. Bang up job

Great Travel Backpack
Love this backpack! Purchased it for N upcoming trip to Italy and tried it out on a recent trip to Florida. Love the way it unzips like a carry on. I was able to easily pack my clothes for 4 days in it. It slid under the seat in the airplane and counted as my no charge personal item! The canvas material is sturdy and not stiff. So many pockets to tuck away small items. Truly happy with it.

Nice, but doesn’t meet my needs
This pack has some great features:Unique color, sleek outer appearance, external water bottle pocket, external discreet passport pocket, very well thought-out organizer panel and a light colored interior so it’s easy to see my stuff. Not so great (for me) features:Internal waterproof bag that I probably won’t use, strangely fiddly fasteners on the compression straps, bulky padding that makes the electronics compartment take up a lot of space, and having to add your own waist strap.Reason I returned it:I was hoping this 40 liter pack would enable me to downsize from my trusty 20″ 45 liter rolling case, but the case holds so much more. I need to travel with sports clothing, and my stuff won’t all fit in the pack.

Very useful for travel
This is true size travel bag. Suitable size for European countries as carry-on. Each member of our family has one in different colors and we all like them. It’s durable, has descent spase for some closings needed in airplane and there at destination and some personal goods which you need to have close to you like medications.

Love the size of the backpack. Not too bulky and can fit a lot of stuff in it, especially with the flexibility to expand to a larger size. I use this for my daily backpack for work but if I ever need to stop at the grocery store thereâs a lot of room to fit in extra stuff.

So I am returning it. Very good high quality bag though. I love the rough look of it but at the same time elegant. But unfortunately not for me as a travel bag. 40L one probably can be one but I wonât spend that much money for a travel bag. There are cheaper good quality ones. I would still give it a 4 star rating though because itâs a beauty.
