Amazing backpack!!!
I bought this for my boyfriend to use when heâs on his motorcycle and itâs fantastic quality! I love Northface as a brand and their quality is unmatched.
There are clips to secure the bag around the chest and waist. There are ample pockets and each zipper feels very secure. My boyfriend has been using this backpack for 7 months for rides and when traveling and it still looks brand new!

TNF is solid!
Itâs a little tight in the main compartment and since itâs not a clamshell it can be tough to get to your stuff down there but the bag is nice, definitely quality.

LOVE LOVE LOVE
My husband uses his backpack every week at work and absolutely loves it. It has the perfect storage for everything he needs. It fits his MacBook very well as well.

One of the most comfortable backpacks I have had in a long time!
As a college student, I needed a good backpack to carry all my books and my laptop. I bought this backpack three years ago and I am about to be a junior in college and still use it! It’s very durable, sturdy, and does not tear easy. Often times I am outside with my backpack when it starts to rain. I have my laptop, all my books and notebooks in there, and they have never gotten wet. It resists the rain very well, and has always kept my things dry! It has a separate pocket from the main one for my laptop, which I appreciate because I don’t want to risk getting my laptop broke from being in with my books! Overall this is a really great product and I am not even close to needing a new backpack!

Love it
I got the women version but the straps feel small if you have wide shoulders I got the regular version which feels much better,
I have the Borealis version which is basically the same aside from the bungee system and the organization pocket on the recon being a bit bigger.
So far the backpacks I have gotten from the north face have been versatile and durable havenât really noticed any wear and tear issues so the price matches the quality compared to previous backpacks I have bought for around the same price.
Doesnât feel bulky or to heavy especially with the back support that actually helps me keep my back straight while wearing it and I have heavy stuff inside.
The picture is the straps on the women version compared to the regular version

Current Recon NOW has durable fabric for water bottle pockets
Background. I bought a North Face Recon backpack in 2020. Traveled with it nearly every day. But after the first year, the fabric for the water bottle side pockets ripped, making it impossible to carry water bottles. I considered trying to repair the holes but didn’t feel confident in that option. I evaluated packs by other brands. Went down to the sporting goods store and tried ’em out. Nothing satisfied me. In particular, I have grown very accustomed to the Recon’s organizational arrangement of pockets and sleeves. I wasn’t finding this pattern in other packs.
I was happy to see that the current version (summer 2023) of the Recon pack NOW has durable fabric for the water bottle pockets. They replaced the flimsy elastic mesh fabric with sturdy nylon/polyester fabric. This new fabric feels heavier than the fabric that is used for the main body of the pack.
Although I have only used the pack for a single day so far, I have a good feeling that this pack is going to last a few years longer than my previous Recon pack.

I stalked this bag online for months, and was sooo excited to finally get it – but it’s much too long. I’m a 5’4″ F and even with the straps cinched up tight, the bottom of the bag was pushing down on my lower back & bum. Additionally, the flexible straps seemed like a great idea – and for some they might be – but for me, they kept the straps from angling up to follow the slope of my shoulders and neck, and made them dig into them instead.
Quality-wise I had zero complaints – it’s a beautiful backpack and really well made. If I had one quibble about the construction of the bag it’d be that the accessory pocket in the front isn’t very solidly structured, meaning the pockets are pretty floppy. This might not bother some, but when I am quickly stowing something in the front compartment of my pack, I like being able to pop things in as quickly and easily as possible without struggling with the top lip of a pocket or pouch that is flopping over in my way.
The search for the perfect pack continues…

Great bag, perfect for my needs. Can comfortably carry 16″ MBP, 12.9″ iPad Pro, cables, dongles, sunglasses, gym shoes, bottle etc.
My ONLY gripe, I really do just have one. Is that it doesn’t stand up well. It’ll slide down or fall over depending on the floor surface even when balanced against a table leg etc. This only really happens when the bag is loaded up with things, which is exactly when I don’t want it laying on the ground.
