A bit confusing at the start, but worked great!
I purchased this SIM card for my trip to Quebec. It was a bit frustrating to activate. I downloaded the app in the United States and started my service. However on cross the border into Canada, it said I had to connect to wifi to complete the connection. I connected to wifi and signed back into my account and then it still didn’t work. However, turning my phone off and on again, it then proceeded to work properly. I had great signal throughout my trip, including to some more rural locations.
All and all I am please with this purchase.
There are a few limitations though: the number of packages available and time combinations:
    USD$15 for 100 MB for 3 days
    USD$25 for 250 MB for 7 days
    USD$35 for 500 MB for 14 days
    USD $50 for 1GB for 30 days
In advance, I knew that I’d need at least 250MB for 5 days, but was unsure how much I would need beyond that. But I ended up needing 2x that, LOL. But I was also using Google maps for directions, looking up restaurant hours, sending a few SnapChats, posting on Facebook, etc. So if I had a consistent internet connection I probably could have used less data. I wasn’t backing up photos using data though. I took at least 3 hundred photos so I would have needed much more data for that!

Sim activated but no free data in india
I purchased this card to use during my India visit. It is hard to get a network there landing at Delhi airport. I was planning to use gigsky sim’s free 100mb after landing there. Installing the gigsky app and account set-up was easy. I was able to activate the sim card after landing in India, however there was no free data plan listed to choose from even though the description on the card clearly says so. It turned out to be useless and waste of money for me.

    * Easy to activate
I recently went to Asia visiting three countries. I bought GigSky and activated in US before I left. Here are the Pros and Cons:
    Pros:
    * Easy to activate. Just follow the steps, download app on your phone, open the account, and it is ready to use.
    * You can buy the data for the country you will visit before you depart. Just log in to your account. After you bought, It is ready to surf when you arrive on the country of destination. You can buy the data when you are in the country you visited also.
    * It is very beneficial when you arrive in the foreign country without worrying to buy the local sim
    Cons:
    * On the listing it stated, this sim is capable of 4G LTE/3G. In my experience, not all reception 4G. It mostly 3G.
    * Pricing. If you compare to your US carrier (T-Mobile, AT&T, etc.) which roaming outside US, the cost of GigSky maybe cheaper. However, if you compare to the rate of local sim when you are on the destination, GigSky is still expensive and local sim is cheaper.
    * When you use, it feels like the data has depleted very fast before reaching the capacity. Like for example you bought 100MB (the minimum purchase), it feels like it is gone before it reached 100MB. Or I may say, it depleted so quickly not as 100MB you use in US.
    * I feel the speed is not as fast as local sim speed.
    Conclusion:
Gig Sky is good for immediate use when arriving in the destination country without worrying to find the local sim first. After settled down in your destination, you can buy local sim and use it more economically. So for immediate and short term is okay, but for long term, better buy local sim in your destination. You can buy the data which depends on your need of GB or length of stay (days). Please remember, your phone should be unlocked and GSM.
    * I gave 3 star because of the reasons I stated above: pricing, depleted very fast, and the speed.
    Thanks for reading.

    Go GigSky!
Gigsky was included as an option on my factory installed iPad Apple SIM, and it works great, for what I consider a reasonable cost. So, before leaving for a trip to Ireland, I purchased a GigSky SIM card for my phone. I was a bit “all thumbs” installing it, as I had not switched out a SIM before, but that was my fault. Customer Support was super fast getting back to me when I was confused.
Basically, installation is simple. Power down your phone, switch the SIM cards (you’ll need a paper clip or something to open the phone) and power up. Download the Gigsky app; I did that at home before traveling. It works!
Because I was unfamiliar with how this works, I got nervous when the screen read “Vodaphone”. I thought that I had messed up and the phone was roaming on my US carrier. No, that was the local telecom that Gigsky was contracted with. It was functioning, I just didn’t know it.
I used less data than I expected, as wifi was available all over, and I didn’t use a lot of data anyway.
For calls I Skyped. I’m not sure about messaging. My Apple iMessages went through okay, but in my case SMS did not. You might want to try WhatsApp; not sure about that. I used email. I have heard that Facebook messenger works fine. Did not have success setting up a mobile hotspot, but all this might be a function of the telecom. It was handy having maps and directions available as I wandered.
To finish up, the GigSky SIM card did just what I needed, and I will use it again. It is a really great alternative for travel.
